Clinical and experimental study on fatty acid composition of bone marrow lipid in hematologic disorders.
نویسنده
چکیده
The fatty acid composition of bone marrow lipid was studied in 10 normal individuals and in 90 patients with a hematologic disorders. Simultaneously , the fatty acid composition of bone marrow was studied in rabbits and dogs which were injected with nitromin and cortisone, and others which were irradiated and subjected to periodic venesection. The fatty acid composition of normal human bone marrow consisted mainly of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid ranging from lauric acid to arachi-donic acid. The predominant fatty acids were as follows: oleic acid 35.2 ±4.9%, palmitic acid 27.8±2.5%, linoleic acid 15.3±2.9%, palmitoleic acid 8.1±2.7%, stearic acid 6.3±1.4%. Lauric, myristic, linolenic, ara-chidonic acid were also present but in smaller amounts. In the patients with hematologic disorders, the fatty acid. composition of bone marrow were variable. In the experimental study, the certain changes of fatty acid composition of the bone marrow were observed, but in adipose tissue similar variation were not observed. The conclusion drawn from this study were: (1) all hematologic disorders were accompanied by the abnormalities of fatty acid metabolism in the bone marrow, and (2) bone marrow, lipid had, in addition to its function as fat stores, protection of tissue, and filling of tissue interstices, an active role in hematopoiesis.

Effects of different levels of phospholipids on fatty acid composition, body lipid content and lipase activity in stellate fish (Acipenser stellatus) stellatus)
Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different levels of phospholipids on fatty acid profile, lipid content of body and lipase activity in stellate fish (Acipenser stellatus) fed different levels of lecithin as phospholipid source. The fish with average weight of 11.25 ± 0.06 g were fed seven different diets having identical levels of protein and lipid content but dif...

The Iran’s coastal marine algae have great potential in the fields of medicine, food and cosmetics which unfortunately, fewer have been studied. In the present study, Total lipid and fatty acid profile of brown algae, N. zanardini were measured in both cold and warm season. The total lipid content with 41.1±0.8 mg/g dry weight was high in February. In the present study, Fatty acid composition o...
متن کاملEffects of salinity on growth and fatty acid composition of green microalgae Dunaliella bardawil as a candidate source for biofuel production
Microalgae as a source of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, pigments, pharmaceutical and food metabolites, has received more focus by biological researchers at last decades. The amount and composition of fatty acids produced by microalgae depended on biomass production and environmental factors such as changes in salinity, light and nutrient availability. In this study, the green microalga...

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impacts of diets supplemented with different lipid sources on growth performance, body composition, fatty acid profile, and hepatic antioxidant enzyme activity of juvenile black sea bream, Acanthopagrus schlegeli (initial mean weight, 1.1±0.02g). Four isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were formulated with either fish oil (FO), soybean oil (SO),...

This study evaluated the suitability of canola oil as a source of supplemental dietary lipid for rainbow trout. Triplicate groups of the 30 fingerlings held under identical culture conditions were fed twice daily by iso-nitrogenous, iso-calorific and iso-lipidic diets for eight weeks. Experimental diets consisted of 30.3% protein, 18.7 kJg-1 energy and 16.7% lipid from fish oil (FO), canola oil...
